Help with feeding your baby or toddler
Feeding kids is HARD!! There's no shame in admitting that. Even as a child nutritionist, I find it hard to put everything into practice every day.
Just because eating is something that everyone does, doesn't mean that we don't need a little extra help from time to time. Especially when you're also dealing with the stresses that come with being a new parent, or managing changing behaviours in your toddler. Asking for help, to take control of mealtimes and enjoy the time at the table is SO valuable, when you think of how much of your time you will spend having meals with your child.
Getting help with mealtimes, weaning or fussy eating from a baby nutritionist is the right thing for you if:
You started introducing solid foods and found it more challenging than you expected
Your child is stuck on eating only a small number of foods
Your little one spits out food and is throwing food on the floor
Your baby is drinking more milk than other babies the same age
You just need someone to chat to about what's even normal when it comes to children's eating
Sometimes, reading all the information online and going to a weaning workshop isn't quite enough to give you the reassurance you need during weaning.
And it's understandable to have worries and concerns - introducing solid food and weaning your baby is a huge step. A leap into the unknown. If you've had issues with your own relationship with food in the past, then you might be determined to set your baby up with the right eating habits from the start.
I had a 1:1 with Katie and would thoroughly recommend her. She helped ease my anxieties surrounding weaning. She gave such knowledgeable and personable advice, it really helped reassure me that we are on the right path and to enjoy this next stage!!

Getting Help with Feeding
In a 1:1 consultation, I can spend MORE time focusing on the areas that YOU are finding difficult in more detail than is possible in an online workshop.
By having a video consultation, we can look at the eating environment that your child is in, how your food is being prepared, and the equipment you are using.
We can look together at creating a plan that works for you and your family, that will really help you to improve the mealtime experience for you and your child.
We can do all of this at a time to suit you, without having to rush.
What to expect from online support
Prior to our feeding consultation, I will ask you to complete a short questionnaire, giving me some more details about the areas that you need support with. I might ask you to record what food is eaten and when for a few days, or even to record one of your mealtimes.
After our video consultation, you will get a copy of the recording to watch back - ideal to revisit the strategies with a partner, parent or child care provider. Follow-up support is available to help you implementing any changes.
If there is something that requires more specialist support, eg from a dietitian or speech and language therapist, I will always refer you on to the relevant qualified person.
Katie has been amazing at supporting our weaning journey! During these hard times and starting a weaning journey was a terrifying thought. But Katie really put us at ease and was so helpful. She gave us the confidence and support we needed. I would 110% recommend her!! Thank you Katie
